Every Advent Sunday me and my family try to organize a BIG dinner.
We sitting around the Advent wreath.Together we kindle the candle and start to eat very-very tasty foods.
At first of December morning i wake up and run to my advent calendar. I look what is in this day account  and the most i see some chocolate, candy or something very tiny( ’cause my Advent calendar’s account is really small). I really happy when i see my favorite candy or chocolate. Every morning to Christmas i get some little thing what makes me happy everyday.

I’m Jewish so We don’t celebrate Advent,but I think,I heard, that’s a good thing! Then let’s talk about Hanuka!
Hanuka is the holiday of lights. Long time ago, there was a candle what was burning for 8 days. At Hanuka you have to,to light the Menorah what is a candlestick. Everyday you light a plus candle with the ‘servant candle’ and the end of the holiday 8 candle will burn

The advent is prologue to Christmas. Usually begin at December 1 and finish at December 24. Every Sunday everybody light a candle to the wreath. And every day you open a window of the christmas calendar. The  calendars has got  twenty-four windows.

My mum buys the advent calendar and put some chocolate in. We buy the Christmas tree every year 24th December. And 24th in the morning we decorate the Christmas tree with my brother. We usually cook some “bejgli”. I don’t like it so much, because i don’t like a poppy and walnuts. We are do a advent wreath, and every Sunday we kindle the candle one of the four. This is the best month in the year!!!!!

Every year, we’ve make an advent wreath, one month before Christmas day. This is a wreath with four candle, and some decoration. The four candle means the four weeks before Christmas day. Every Sunday we light a candle, first one, then two, then three and the last candle, at the last Sunday before Christmas day.

The Advent is always before from Christmas. It’s until for 4 Sunday. You light candle every Sunday, and you wait for Christmas.
You should make Advent’s wreath. You put on pine branch and you put on 4 candles, many cinnamon, dried apple or orange, acorn crop...etc.

We don’t celebrate the Advent, But we always make the wreath.

The Advent is starts at November last Sunday.

It was very nice. After, we lighted it, and we were very happy, because we knew that Christmas is coming! We will light it every Sunday before Christmas.

Four candle is on the advent wreath. Three candle is pink, and the last one is purple.
The purple is the last one, what you should light. Advent is about the patient.
This time is about you waiting the Christmas day, and every Sunday you should light a candle.
I think it’s a very very good period, i love this time.
And these Sunday my family are bake some cakes: like gingerbread. It’s very typical in the Christmas period

Well, Advent is something I had never heard of until I came to Hungary. Ok, I had heard the word but I did not know what it means.
My wife started celebrating it when our first child was born.
We light a candle each Sunday, starting 4 Sundays before Christmas. Once the candles are lit, we sing *real* Christmas songs.

This year is special because my wife’s sister and family are here from Australia. They do not celebrate Advent there and they two young daughters, 12 and 5 loved it last night!

Here’s a picture with 3 candles lit. It is great to sit by candle light and sing and talk.

This year we have also started following a very old Christmas tradition. We have 24 candles and we light a new one each morning of Advent. So, today we have 13 candles burning. This wonderful light in the morning as each day gets longer and longer really helps us get through the day!

I come from a half-catholic family from Eastern Slovakia, but I learnt about Advent and Advent wreath when I married my husband and moved to the hilly part of Slovakia, near Poprad. That time I made my first one and been doing them since then. I just love it. I know I can buy one in a shop, but it is not the same. Each year I try to make a different one. There are so many possibilities! This time I wanted it to look white and cold - like ice.
We ussually listen to carols when making it and when lighting the candles.
Each Advent lasts the same number of days BUT for an unknown reason it seems shorter and shorter every year...
